ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Registrar Faqir Hussain has confirmed that Malik Riaz had met with Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, however, while the CJP was deposed. Hussain added that two to three such meetings had taken place during which he (the registrar) was also present. Talking to different media channels, the SC registrar said further that Malik Riaz had proposed that the chief justice should meet with President Asif Ali Zardari regarding the restoration issue but the CJP declined his suggestion deeming it inappropriate. Hussain claimed that the CJP held no meetings with Malik Riaz after his restoration. He also said Malik Riaz had offered his own bulletproof car to the chief justice for security but the offer was declined. The registrar said he could not confirm as to when the CJP came to know about the business deals between Malik Riaz and Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.
