‘Rana Sanaullah should apologise to Pakhtuns’

FAISALABAD: 
MNA Nisar Ahmad Jatt on Thursday said that Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah should apologise for what he said about Pakhtuns in connection with an army operation in the tribal areas.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Jatt said all Pakhtoons were neither miscreants nor terrorists.
“They [Pakhtuns] are hardworking… they come to the Punjab in search of a better livelihood… they also have good business relations with traders in the province.”
Jatt said Pakhtuns were an asset to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has chosen a peaceful way to overcome terrorism… He has given peace talks another chance so that law and order can be maintained without bloodshed,” he added.
“The entire nation is behind the prime minister’s decision… the law minister should take back his statement.”
“The peaceful talks are imperative for maintenance of law and order in the country… Pakistan cannot bear a full-fledged war,” he added.

Pat on the back: Rewards to be linked with performance, says K-P IGP

The process of rewards and punishment in the police force will continue and officers will be given posts of their choice, but their performance will be strictly monitored, said IGP Nasir Khan Durrani on Thursday.
Addressing policemen receiving training at the Police Training Centre, Hangu, he said the age for promotions has been increased from 33 to 40 years for constables and every constable who has passed the B-1 exam will be sent for the training course leading to a promotion.
“The government has already decided to increase the salaries of police officials in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to the level of the Punjab police. Moreover, officials of the bomb disposal squad and counter-terrorism department will be given Rs5,000 allowance,” he said, adding he was doing everything he could to provide the best facilities to the police force.

Peace talks with Taliban to be conducted within constitutional limits: Imran Khan



ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has welcomed four member team that was announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for peace talks with Taliban.
Imran Khan said on Thursday that peace talks with Taliban should be conducted within the constitutional limits.
While talking to media, PTI chief said that government should set a timeframe for negotiations. The federal government has made it’s efforts for the first time to start peace talks with Taliban and Tehreek-e-Insaf welcomes the establishment of committee, he added.
He further stated that during the peace talks, ceasefire should be ensured from both sides.

The Home & Tribal Affairs Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released an amount of Rs. 28,525,000/- (Rs. twenty eight million, five hundred and twenty five thousand only) for expenditure in connection with assessment report of material / goods losses, due to Qissa Khwani Bazar bomb blast (Peshawar) occurred on 29th October, 2013.

The amount so released, has been placed at the disposal of Commissioner Peshawar Division with immediate effect for disbursement subject to observance of all codal formalities and laid down procedure, says by Home & Tribal Affairs Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
