PESHAWAR:
The process of rewards and punishment in the police force will continue and officers will be given posts of their choice, but their performance will be strictly monitored, said IGP Nasir Khan Durrani on Thursday.
Addressing policemen receiving training at the Police Training Centre, Hangu, he said the age for promotions has been increased from 33 to 40 years for constables and every constable who has passed the B-1 exam will be sent for the training course leading to a promotion.
“The government has already decided to increase the salaries of police officials in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to the level of the Punjab police. Moreover, officials of the bomb disposal squad and counter-terrorism department will be given Rs5,000 allowance,” he said, adding he was doing everything he could to provide the best facilities to the police force.
